What you see in the picture is the first real step in manufacturing the stairs that will lead up to the top (mezzanine) level. These will be built by a very skilled welder in the town of Borlänge, a guy who has made quite a few weird, custom stair jobs in the past. This is the design I put together for him, a pretty steep staircase but that’s how it has to be:
Sidings will be the metal you see in the top picture and the steps will be the same Siberian larch wood I use for the half-way floor level and mezzanine flooring. The welder dude is a pretty busy man, so I’m not sure when these sidings will be completed… but with winter just around the corner it really doesn’t matter that much – I won’t be able to install these until spring 2021 anyway.
