Moroccan concrete tile installation

Another major milestone achieved: Tiling the ground floor. Stian Verhnjak Møller of Karpenter, the local construction firm agreed to perform the back breaking work of tiling the place up properly. The tile of choice is a Moroccan, concrete tile, 20×20 cm and approx. 16 mm thick. They are all individually made and differ somewhat in hue and contrast – further adding to the industrial, worn look of the place.

This is a very important step, as I now can start installing kitchen cabinets, dividing walls and such. Stian did an excellent job, and the only thing left to do is treating the tile with a special, über-stinky chemical that prevents the tile from staining too easily. Thanks Stian – great stuff!
