I was browsing the national classifieds’ platform “Blocket” from something completely different when the ad came up. Someone was selling a beaten up, yet structurally sound and GORGEOUS water tower approximately 2 hours south of me. The combination of the price being right and my many diagnoses,  I decided to contact the fellow slinging the property and find out more about it.

After information exchange, assessment, a reality check which obviously failed monumentally, some haggling and discussion – I decided to go ahead with the purchase. So that’s it folks, I am now the proud owner of a delightful slice of Swedish industrial history – a water tower previously used for supplying steam train engines with water. Many years ago the train tracks were removed, but for some reason, the tower was left intact.

The plan is to turn it into a satellite office for my freelancing business, a place to go to work “to get away from it all”. It’s located in a cozy little hamlet with a school, market, gas pump (right next door to the tower actually) a school and lots of friendly people. I will restore it to as original specification as possible, letting this process take its due time. Stay tuned!
